In 1995, Honda released an exciting concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show, but no one expected the car to actually go into production. However, Honda decided to release the S2000 in 1999 to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. The S2000 followed on the backs of Honda’s 1960s roadsters, the S500, S600, and S800, and it was named for its engine displacement of 2,000 cc (2.0L). The Honda S2000 is a front mid-engine, rear wheel drive car, launched with a 2.0L inline four cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine
